Euphemia Ales is a homebrewery in the Mission District of San Francisco. Due to space constraints of city living we rent a garage dedicated to our hobby!
We buy grain in bulk and mill it at the brew space.
We normally brew ten gallon all grain batches but can do fifteen. We use a RIMS mashing system to manage mash temperatures. Using the RIMS tube, we continually vorlauf while mashing and use a PID controller to energize the heating element.
We use a counterflow chiller to cool the wort as we fill carboys.
To maintain fermentation temperatures we use the fermentation chamber above. It is dual zone and each level can hold six carboys.
For lagering and chilling/carbonating kegs we have a beverage-air kegerator. While it has six taps, we don’t really use them to pour beer.
